  • “…The true star here is the room, which gives you so much sea view you feel like you’re on a cruise ship that’s just docked at the pier. It’s got a floor like a ship’s deck with glossy pale timbers and silver and purple velvet curtains (which match the chair upholstery) hanging from a velvet covered pelmet. The Scandi-style lights just add to the look and beyond all that are acres of glass and sea. On the water below there are serious-looking sailing teams motoring back into the harbour. The sun is sinking slowly into the drink…”  Read the full Irish Times Review by Catherine Cleary here…

Again I had Flats, followed by grilled lobster and a glass of Domain Fevre Chablis.  The sticky toffee pudding kept calling out my name, so that not only completed the meal but also ended a pretty perfect day.  Howth is a real treasure to add to your Ireland must-sees.  It’s a short drive from Dublin or a 20 minute DART ride, and well worth the time…” read more here…

Myself and my father had one of the nicest and delicious meals that we have ever enjoyed. The service was second to none and the food was superb. We intend to return again soon for a large family occasion and I have already recommended Aqua to many of my family members and friends. We really were highly impressed. Emer Breen – January 2016 I am lucky to be able to eat at many great restaurants here in California, but one of the best meals I have ever had was in Aqua Joan Barry – November 2015 We had the pleasure of dining in your beautiful restaurant in July of this year where we experienced a gastronomic feast with breathtaking views of the Irish sea and Howth pier.  Your restaurant is quite simply out of this world which offers the customer superb food alongside friendly but professional service not to mention excellent value for money.  I was so impressed with my experience there in the Summer I have been dreaming of my return visit ever since. “Our concierge at the hotel we were staying in in Dublin said this was his favorite restaurant , Aqua, in the quaint fishing village 30 minutes by train North of Dublin. And…boy was he right. Very beautiful scenery as you sat with great views of the harbor along with dining on the freshest fish you can eat. I ordered the grilled swordfish which was delicious and my husband had the halibut. The wine list is good too and we experienced a most lovely lunch on a typical Irish day of rain mixed with sun mixed with wind. But we were cozily ensconced in this magic place.”  September 2017

“It is immediately apparent why this restaurant is usually booked out well in advance. Classy modern elegant atmosphere, excellent service, and out of this world dishes. We all sampled each other’s fish and agreed that each was excellent. Flavours were fresh, subtle, altogether delicious. If we lived nearer to Howth we would be regulars.” August 2016

“Aqua Restaurant was closed to the public when I ate there as part of a large wedding party (approx. 90 people). The restaurant sits at the end of a wharf and overlooks the water. The food and the service were AWESOME. Dinner started at approx. 7:30pm with a pre-set menu. However, if dietary restrictions were involved, the staff was more than pleased to make a substitution. They were very attentive to the guests. As we ate overlooking the water, the sun began to go down. I have never seen a sunset like it in my life. It had not rained all day and the sunset lasted for over an hour. Such a pretty location to experience this!!” July 2016

“…The location is splendid, with sea views from the first floor dining room…Going back here would be a priority on any future Irish trips.” May 2016

“…The food was amazing and the location is wonderful. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is perfect. They even have a beautiful little waiting bar. Nice for a pre dinner drink. Highly recommend”. May 2016

“Stepping into Aqua restaurant in Howth is like stepping onto a cruise ship. The views are fantastic and they have a really good early bird menu. 3 courses including coffee for 30.00 of the most fabulous food. The bread was hot and very tasty and we were not charged additional for this. There is also a bar in the restaurant so one can spend the entire evening here enjoying the ambiance…” April 2016
